2016 Mississippi Food Summit

In 2016, MSAN organized the third biennial Mississippi Food Summit. Taking place in Jackson, MS on November 17-19, workshops and panel discussions addressed important food issues faced by Mississippians across the state. A diverse variety of people came together to discuss a wide range of topics including farm to school, preservation methods, advocating for food/farm policy, and much more. Dr. Tyrone Hayes, biologist and professor at the University of California – Berkley, Chef Anne Cooper,director of nutrition services for the Boulder Valley School District, and Ricardo Salvador of the Union of Concerned Scientists presented keynote addresses.
